To be honest, I stopped to watch/listen to Ben Whishaw read the minutes of a restaurant menu or a local council meeting, so I was always going to watch this one. Black Doves has some great supporting performances and for them alone, and if you like your humor dark, this series is a must-see. Ella Lily as Hyland Williams and Gabrielle Creevy as Eleanor enchant two of my favorite characters in this play. As for Kathryn Hunter as Lenny Lines, let’s just say her performance is sublime. When you add to all of this the amazing sets and theatrics, this is a definite winner for me.
