CIA agent Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror. Real military advisors helped produce a more authentic execution of weapons handling, house clearance, deployment, team activities, etc. Cited in Sovereign Awards (2024). The authors of the terribly negative reviews of this gripping series are entitled to their opinions. However, they seem driven by a specific agenda and overly fixated on minutiae. For example, how realistic is Laysla de Oliveira’s pulling sequence? Many of the negative critics claim to have first-hand experience with the subject matter. Well, I do too. While Lioness may have enough technical flaws to keep it from qualifying as a special operations documentary, there are so many other details that it captures well, some of them surprisingly well, so much so that it stands out from most of the programming you might compare it to. For example, I myself switched to Lioness after I started watching Heart of Stone. I usually like Gal Gadot, but I wanted to see something with a little more red meat. The Lioness is up to the task, and how! From the action and plot to a cast of relatable characters, played by a truly stellar cast, this is worth watching over and over again!
